Congratulations to KNL Master’s student Emma Burdon for securing a 2025 NSERC CGS-M award! This award is provided by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada and is intended to support students in cultivating research skills and contributing to Canadian research in a wide range of disciplines.
Emma will be working on developing etching procedures and depositing ferroelectric thin films using microwave assisted hydrothermal synthesis. This synthesis method can be much safer and environmentally friendly than typical processes, paving a way for more sustainable nanotechnology development.
More information about NSERC CGS-M awards can be found on the NSERC Website.
